Obituary Leah J. “Jeannie” Lipscomb, 78, Rogersville, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Springfield. She was born March 30, 1944 in Rogersville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Hurdie Lee Bruton and Marcella Grace (Oxenreider) Bruton. She was united in marriage July 27, 1961 to Olen I. Lipscomb. He preceded her in death in 2016. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Bruton, a granddaughter, Destiny, and brother-in-law, Albert Christian. Jeannie was devoted to her family. Her family was everything, especially her grandkids. She was loving, kind, caring and giving to a fault and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her daughter, Olena White and her husband Jon; a granddaughter, Bambi Campbell and her husband Brandon; four great-grandchildren, Shelby, Matt, Brock, and Kelce; two sisters, Bonnie Christian, and Kathy Bean and her husband Lee; two brothers, Henry Bruton and his wife Debbie, and David Bruton and his wife Kay; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Bruton, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. A special thanks to the staff of Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and Pete, Rachel, and the whole Compasses Hospice Care Center for all that they did for Jeannie and the family. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022 with a funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow in Watts Cemetery south of Rogersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Compasses Hospice, 1341 West Battlefield Rd, Suite 120, Springfield, MO 65807.
