Janet Norris Fondren, 59, of Richton, MS, passed away on November 9th, surrounded by her loved ones, after an intensive battle with colon cancer. She passed away at Asbury Hospice House. Janet was born on December 9th, 1962 to Joe and Paulette Norris in Eupora, MS. Janet was a devout follower of Christ and a member of Central Baptist Church. She graduated from Central Academy (Macon, MS) in 1980 and later graduated from East Mississippi Community College (Scooba, MS) in 1982. Janet was a dedicated mother to her children, a dear friend to many, and was known for her compassionate heart and desire to help others. Family was always Janet’s first priority and this was evident in the lives she touched around her. She was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. For the love she showed, we celebrate her life and are thankful she left the world a better place. She will be missed greatly and the hole left by her absence in our hearts will be impossible to fill. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ford Fondren; her parents Joe and Paulette (Morris) Norris; her grandparents, John Marshall and Lona Mae (Quinn) Norris, RW “Dub” Morris and Lucille (Black) Morris. She is survived by her children, Patrick Fondren, Jordan Fondren; adopted children, Ashley Cruso; adopted grandson, Franklin Thomas; her brother, Ronnie Norris (Laura); her sisters, Paula McDougle (Ricky), Carmen Klapper (Alec); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers consist of the following: Kenny Cottingham, Todd Morris, Ricky McDougle, Patrick Fondren, Ken Nicholson, Blake Nicholson, Tre Robertson, Jimmy Wade, Coker Wright; Honorary pallbearers, Jason Barefield, DR Barefield, Bo Brewer, Trey Cook, and Chase Cook. Services will be held at Central Baptist Church on November 13th, visitation starting at 2:30, service at 4:00 by Pinehaven Funeral Home of Hattiesburg.
