Jamie’s Obituary Jamie “Catfish” Dee (Thixton) Gay Jamie “Catfish” Dee (Thixton) Gay, age 75, of Bangs passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood. Celebration of Life for Jamie will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Jamie was born on February 19, 1947, to James and Mitzie (Fuller) Thixton in Brownwood. She had a love for painting, being outdoors, and a heart for all animals. She was a loving mom, Mee-Maw, and great-Mee-Maw, who will be greatly missed by all who love her. Jamie is survived by Donnie Gay of Brownwood; their children, Jimi Simmons of Bangs, Rusty Gay and wife Kathy of Brownwood, James Dewayne Gay and Gary Ware of Rising Star, and Shana Diann Sliger of Brownwood; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jana Duffer and husband Travis of Early. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mitzie Thixton; and father and mother-in-law, Fred and Katie Gay.
