James W. “Jim” Horn December 6, 1960 – July 9, 2022 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card James W. “Jim” Horn, 61, died unexpectedly July 9, 2022 in his home. He was born December 6, 1960 in Washington, a son of William L. and Laura Jean Kilgore Horn, both of Washington. Jim was a 1978 graduate of Washington High School and worked, at one time, as a flagger for Verizon. He was a former employee and longtime volunteer for the Washington City Mission. He loved to hunt and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a son, James R. Horn of Washington; a daughter, Heather R. Horn of Washington; a brother, Ron Horn of Washington; two sisters, Jamie Horn of Cokeburg and Billie Jo Leech of Wheeling; five grandchildren, Tahjanae Bryant, Douglas Szolek, Jay’Dyn Winston, Zai’Dyn Horn and Riley Marianna, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Joshua R. Lowery and his former wife and good friend, Debra Szolek. Friends will be received Wednesday from 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 7 PM in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Religious services will be announced. All other services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family via the funeral home.
