View Tribute Book James “Radar” Bolitho, Sr., 71, of Lapeer, formerly of Clarkston, died Wednesday December 7, 2022. He was born May 19, 1951 in Detroit, to parents Clarence and Lillian (Temple) Bolitho. James, known as “Radar”, married Diana Knapp on February 15, 2004 at the Sashabaw Meadows Clubhouse in Clarkston. Radar was the maintenance supervisor at Sashabaw Meadows Mobile Home Park in Clarkston, where he worked many years alongside his beloved, late son Jimmy. Through his career, he made many long-term, wonderful friends. Radar loved to celebrate each holiday throughout the year! Mr. and Mrs. Bolitho had a large collection of inflatable decorations they displayed on their front lawn each holiday. On Halloween, they had hundreds of children (and adults) show up to enjoy the decorations. The Bolithos started decorating the yard for their son and continued to add to the collection, in his memory, after his death. Mr. Bolitho is survived by his loving wife: Diana Bolitho; children: Erica (Jurgen) Witte of Lake Orion and Garry McClellan of Winter Park, FL; best & longtime friend: John McKay; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren (that ALL adored him); brothers: Patrick Bolitho and Russell (Laurie) Bolitho; several nieces, nephew and extended family. He was preceded in death by his children: Dawn Bolitho, Jimmy Bolitho, Jr., Sally McClellan and Jim Risch; grandson: Colin; great-grandson: Landon; and his parents. A memorial gathering will be held 1:00-4:00pm Saturday January 14, 2023 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
