Costella, and a special Uncle Ralph “Smokey” Costella. Jim was a Vietnam Veteran and served his country proudly in the Navy. He served active duty for 4 years and 2 years in the Reserves. After he returned home, Jim worked for AMF and Larchwood Construction as a mechanic. In his earlier years, his love for animals led him to Hanover Shoe Farms, where he worked for several years. James also worked for Schuharts, SCHAAD as a detective, and part time police officer for the Bonneauville Police Department. James is remembered mostly for his job at Eastern Adams Regional Police Department. He served his community as a police officer for many years and a few of those years as the Chief of Police. Jim had a passion for many things. He loved being near the water, and if he wasn’t in his own pool, you could find him on a lake or at the beach. His favorite pastimes included attending auctions, working with fishing rods, restoring furniture with his wife, swimming, fishing, and he loved cars, especially working on them and fixing them. He was a “Jack of all Trades”, he could fix anything, and he would do anything for anyone in need. He was a very strong, selfless, and giving individual. His strength was shown as he battled cancer for the last 3 years. Though he struggled with his health for many years, he never complained. He took one day at a time and lived life to the fullest until his death. Jim is survived by 2 brothers, Neil and Gary Costella, and 1 sister, Barb “Sis” Sease. Jim often talked and shared stories of how he loved raising his children. He is survived by 3 sons, Brian, James Jr. “Cricket”, and Troy Costella, 3 daughters, Kaci, LeAnn, and Megan Costella. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren. When Jim married Rebecca, his family was extended, and they became a very active part of his life. He is survived by 3 stepchildren, Anna Corbin, Larry Kruk, Jr., and Katie Dull, 2 special sons-in-law, Michael Corbin and Adam Dull. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Jackson and Henry Corbin, and Everett and McCartney Dull.
