View Tribute Book Jake Phong To // Phong Thanh To (Vietnam) Gulfport, MS Jake Phong To of Gulfport, Mississippi, age 44, was an insurance adjuster working in Florida. Jake returned to his Heavenly home surrounded by family and friends at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on October 21, 2022 at 11:35PM. Jake was born on June 8, 1978 to Timmy To and Thuong To in Bạc Liêu, Vietnam. Jake was part of the Vietnamese refugees that fled with his parents and his younger brother “Froggy”, for a better life in America. They arrived in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1980 through sponsorship. Jake grew up most of his life in Biloxi, MS helping his father as a child on the shrimp boat during the summers, was on student council and a quarterback during his earlier years at Biloxi High School, and loved being involved with anything customer service related. Jake was a beloved nail technician for many years in Jackson, MS. He moved his entire family from Biloxi to Jackson to open New York Nails. Jake made lifelong friendships with his clients as a nail tech where he loved sharing and hearing stories with his favorite regular clienteles. Those who were Jake’s nail salon clients became instant family. Jake graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2011 with an Accounting and Finance Degree. Jake was a natural born motivator, influencer, and leader. He loved helping others figure out what they were best at in life and career. He loved to sing karaoke with his best friends and traveling to meet new people. Jake never met a stranger. Jake is survived by his parents: Mother and Father Thuong Bich To and Timmy Phuc To; Mother of his sons, Jessica Phuong To of Gulfport, MS; Sons, Joseph-Jake An-Dien To and Justus-Jake Ky-An To; Sister, Emma Phuong Bich To; Youngest Brother, Phu Thanh To; Nephew, Edison-Paul Hien Dang; Niece, Christina-Ngoc Phuong To, Eliana Dang, Liliana Pham, and Laila Pham; Sister and brother In-laws Ngan To, Nina Pham, and Nhan “Tango” Dang. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home and again one hour prior to the service. A service to celebrate his life will be held at Natchez Trace Funeral Home on Saturday October29, 2022 at 3:00pm. Interment will follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
