September 30 1964 July 20 2022
Jacqueline S. Hubbell, 57, of Bourbon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family. Jacqueline Sue Hubbell was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 30, 1964 to William and Martha (Whittis) Duke. She grew up and attended school in Louisville and graduated from Iroquois High School, class of 1982. She went on to attend the Sullivan Business college and receive her Associate Degree in Business Management. Shortly after college, Jackie met the love of her life, Greg Hubbell, and they were united in marriage on July 26, 1986. Greg enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This is where they made their home for the next nine years while Greg was serving our country. After his time in the service ended, Greg and Jackie moved back to Louisville. Jackie was employed by Liberty Tax for a short time, then for the next ten years, she worked in the Geography department of the US Census Bureau. She later retired to become a wonderful housewife and homemaker. They would often make trips to Sullivan, Missouri to visit their long-time friends, the Harper family. The two families had met while stationed at Fort Bragg and were able to maintain a long lasting friendship despite being states apart. Greg and Jackie were present for all major life events of the Harper family, including the birth of their children, graduations, and weddings. Eventually, Greg and Jackie decided to move to Sullivan, Missouri in 2019 to make it their final home. Jackie would often times refer to Sullivan as her “safe haven”. Jackie was a woman who was full of love and compassion for others. She was a devoted wife and a second mother to so many. She will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed. Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Greg Hubbell, of Bourbon, MO; four nieces/daughters: Brittany Shorey and husband Stephen of Simpsonville, SC, Ashley Pullen and husband Tyler of Jeffersonville, IN, Heather Dutton of Augusta, GA, and Kendall Myers of Bourbon, MO; great nieces: Olivia, Brandi, Jaylen, Annie, Abbie, Allie, and Landon; a sister, Tina Burris, of Brandenburg, KY; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers: Larry Corn, Roger Corn, and Bobby Duke. Arrangements for cremation have taken place.
