Jack Geoffrey La’ulu, 57, died peacefully with his sweetheart Collette by his side in Roy Utah on December 16, 2022, from complications from abdominal surgery. Geoff was born in Auckland New Zealand May 24, 1965, to Koloti and Seutatia La’ulu. Together with his eleven siblings, Geoff would create skateboards and go carts and race down the hills close to their home. Geoff’s cousins loved the fun atmosphere of the La’ulu home and created memories together by competing in fun outdoor races and building imaginative creations from the local junk yard. Geoff adored the family pets from his childhood especially Larry the rooster and Axel the corgi. Geoff had a love for rugby, track and boxing. Geoff was also an undefeated heavy weight fighter. Geoff came to the United States about thirty years ago. After arriving to the United States, Geoff enrolled in Salt Lake Community College where he earned his Associates Degree in Culinary Science and became a certified chef. He enjoyed teaching students about the art of cooking and his motto was, “Play with your food.” He started his career in a high end bakery and then moved on to hold various chef positions at hotels and restaurants. His favorite job was being a kitchen supervisor in various jails around the Salt Lake area. He became a United States Citizen in January 2019. Geoff met Collette Downs online. Their first date was in Salt Lake City at Gallivan Center. They dated for one year and were married in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic on March 20, 2020. They have enjoyed living in South Ogden their entire marriage. He always told Collette she had a big heart. Collette was Geoff’s monkey and he was her elephant. The gospel of Jesus Christ was a central part of Geoff’s life. Geoff served as a faithful primary teacher. Primary was Geoff’s favorite place to serve in church. He enjoyed singing with the primary children about Jesus Christ and helping their testimonies grow. It was important for Geoff to go to the temple to receive his own endowment and then be sealed to the love of his life Collette. They were sealed on July 16, 2022 in the West Jordan Utah temple. Geoff is survived by his wife Collette. Father Koloti, siblings: Rob, Mac (Helen), Juanita, Jackie, Peter (Lee Ann), Michael (Margaret) and Palolo.
