Obituary Rhinebeck – Irving “Bud” Rogers, 86, a lifetime resident of Rhinebeck, passed away peacefully at the Baptist Home on August 28, 2022. Born in Rhinebeck on September 7, 1935, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lillian (Reusch) Rogers Sr. Bud graduated from Rhinebeck High School in 1953. He worked with his uncle, Frank Rogers, where he learned to be a meatcutter. He later worked for the Von Husen’s Market for twenty years before owning his own business, “The Village Meating Haus”, until 1988. After his retirement, Bud worked as a Physical Therapy Aide at St. Francis Hospital as well as part-time at Rhinebeck Liquors in addition to spending some time at the Pitcher families’ greenhouses. He was a lifelong member of the Rhinebeck Reformed Church, serving many years as an Elder, a past member of the Rhinebeck Rescue Squad, and a longtime walker for the Annual Crop Walk to End Poverty. Bud was a kind, sweet, and gentle man. He loved reading, enjoyed histories and genealogies, walking around his hometown, and enjoying a great cup of coffee. He will be greatly missed. Bud is survived by his loving daughter Ann Marie Rogers of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Russell, Cheryl, Ashley, and Michelle; cherished great grandchildren, Ava, Leilianna, Heath and Aaron; many wonderful nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Clarence Jr., Phyllis, Dorothy (Dot), Marjorie (Mickey), his son Stephen, a granddaughter Sarah, as well as his nephew Rev. Jeffrey Thibodeau. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend thanks to the wonderful care provided by the staff at the Baptist Home in Bud’s final years.
