Irra Dell Horton Pinkard, age 81, Phil Campbell, passed away on November 12, 2022 at Russellville Health Care. She was born on November 11, 1941. As a Christian, Irra Dell was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church, Phil Campbell. In her younger years, she was an active participant and held several leadership roles in Sunday school, WMU, and training union. After graduating from Phil Campbell High School, Irra Dell worked as an Assistant to the Librarian at Northwest Junior College. Later, she operated a ladies boutique in Phil Campbell. She retired from Kellwood in Phil Campbell as a secretary/payroll clerk. After retirement, she lovingly cared for her parents. Later in life, she met and married a wonderful man and became a stepmom. Irra Dell was an excellent seamstress and cook. She enjoyed doing both for her family and friends. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, aunt and stepmom. She was especially loved by her nieces and nephews. Irra Dell was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, that absolutely adored her. Irra Dell was preceded in death by her husband, Elick Loyd Pinkard; her parents William Ira and Lillie Smith Horton; her brother, William Clay Horton; sister-in-law, Mary Webb Horton; and brother-in-law Leonard Kimbrough. She is survived by her sister Stella Mae Horton Kimbrough; her nieces and nephews Ray (Laura) Kimbrough, Hamiton, Fay (Mike) Kimbrough Gaston, Russellville, Joy Kimbrough Reed, Phil Campbell, Mark (Lorri) Kimbrough, Spruce Pine; William Clay (Michele) Horton, Jr., Tuscumbia, Sandra (Archie) Horton Brown, Tuscumbia; and her stepchildren, Jonathon (Courtney) Pinkard, Prattville, Susan Cross, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Tim (Lena) Pinkard, Joelton, Tennessee, and Tammy (Jonathan) Helms, Stanley, North Carolina. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Mt. View Baptist Church, with funeral immediately following. Rev. Sammy Taylor will be officiating the service. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, phone calls, visits and food during this time of sorrow. Thank you to Russellville Health Care and Country Cottage Assisted Living for the love, care and kindness you gave to our aunt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. View Baptist Church’s WMU.
