Howard Nelson White, most beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on Nov. 29, 2022, at the age of 72. He was born Oct. 6, 1950 in Ann Arbor, Mich. to Richard and Ruth White and was the youngest of their three children. He grew up in Lodi, Calif. where he played little league baseball and cruised the neighborhood with his best friend, Tom. He graduated from Lodi High School where he was a member of the wrestling team. He moved to Houston, Texas when he was 17 and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in civil engineering. He proudly served in the airborne division of the U.S. Army National Guard. Having lived in Texas, Howard remained a devoted Houston Astros fan. In addition to baseball, his other passions included fishing, golf, creating culinary masterpieces for his family, completing March Madness brackets, working on his mancave, and listening to music on his headphones while taking care of his lawn. The consummate engineer and problem solver, Howard had a quick fix for anything that was broken – toys, algebra homework, and even hearts. Howard was a faithful servant to God and those in need. He deeply loved teaching Sunday School, sharing Christ’s love, and serving his community by regularly volunteering at the food pantry. Howard is survived by his daughter Amber White Tierce (Paul) and grandson Beckett; his wife Linda, her son Robert Williams (Kristi) and grandchildren, Kasey Blackwell (Alex), Riley and Chloe Williams, and great-grandson Sutton. He is also survived by his sister Sally Graves, brother-in-law Les Strong, and nephews Jeff (Kristin) and Chad (Sue) Strong and Nathan (Madeline) and Brian (Lauren) Roozee. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Venesa Strong. We will remember Howard for his sense of humor, gentle and generous spirit, and huge capacity to love. Visitation will be Monday, December 5 at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Noon at First United Methodist Church of Lexington, Tenn. Memorials can be made in his name to the FUMC Food Pantry, 27 E. Church St., Lexington, TN., 38351. Reed’s Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Howard Nelson White October 6 1950 November 29 2022.
