Longtime resident of Whitefish Bay, formerly of Green Bay. Precious daughter of Nancy L. Vanden Busch and the late Elwood J. Vanden Busch. Beloved wife for 56 years and best friend of Peter J. Helf. Loving mother of Heidi (Doug) Mueller, Rob (C’za) Helf, Nicole (Jason Brunner) Wells and Peter (Annie DeFalco) Helf. Proud Grandma “Mama Holly” of Douglas (Kiley), Chris (Kendall), Grace, and Natalie Mueller; John, James, Josie, Maria, Tessie and Madonna Helf; Brenna, Luke and Aubrey Wells; and Theo, Archie and Sonny Helf. Dear sister of Vicki (Mike) Porter, Terry (Rob) Vranek, Marcia (John) Beauchaine, Patti (Chuck) Albers, Suzy (Jeff) Wheeler, Jon (Katie) Vanden Busch, Chris (Glenn) Urban and Jeff (Angela) Vanden Busch. Further survived by other relatives and many, many dear friends. Preceded in death by her father Elwood, mother-in-law Ruth Helf, father-in-law Biff Helf, son-in-law Scott Wells and grandson Peter Azcueta Helf. Holly had an infinite love for all, she always made everyone around her feel heard, special, loved and loved bringing her family and friends together for any reason. She made time in her day to talk to every single one of her children, siblings, and grandchildren. Holly was a most generous gift giver and most selfless woman! She sewed blankets for all the newborns, Christmas crafts for all her siblings, made t-shirt blankets, sent out 300 plus Christmas cards, and made sure every child was even to the penny on Christmas gifts (always a fair giver). Holly made a point of never missing anyone’s game, play, or concert and she had serious FOMO if she had to miss one. She enjoyed traveling including annual trips to NYC in December for Papa Pete’s birthday! Holly also loved going to Austin to visit grandkids, Door County, Florida, and wherever the sun was shining! Holly was an avid sports fan, always supporting the Brewers, Packers, Badgers, Bucks, and every team a family member played on. She loved carrying around her transistor radio to listen to Uecker Brewers games while attending to her never-ending to-do list. Holly was always up for attending concerts, especially at Summerfest. She enjoyed gardening and was a longtime member of the Whitefish Bay Garden Club. Holly loved all table games and recently joined a regular “mahjong” game with friends. Let’s not forget about “Jibbing” (inside joke)! Holly never missed Sunday Mass; her faith was always unsurpassed. Holly worked various HR/Administrative roles at Canvasbacks for 20 plus years and H&K Partners for 20 years. Holly’s daughter Heidi shares her heartfelt thoughts below: As I could not sleep, I wrote down some ways to live like Mama Holly: -Try to go to Mass every week, especially on vacation -Talk to your family/friends every day, even if it’s just to ask what they are having for dinner -Go to as many sporting events, plays, concerts as you can -Host a party and go to every party you are invited to -Never pay full price for anything -Exercise whenever you can -Soak up sunshine -Do not throw anything away -Make everyone’s favorite foods -Say hello to everyone and introduce people who don’t know each other -Wear colorful clothing Holly was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will hold a most precious spot in the hearts of all, her memory will forever live on. Our world is a better place because of Holly. Until we meet again, we love you Mama Holly. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 6th, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4825 N. Wildwood Avenue, Whitefish Bay, with a 2nd visitation on Saturday, January 7th from 10:00 to 12:00 noon also at Holy Family Catholic Church, followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon.
