Obituary of Harold G. Grant Harold G. Grant, 82, of Fort Covington, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y. Born on March 17, 1939, he was the son of the late Wendall and Florence Carr Grant. On May 2, 1964, he was wed to the former Phyllis Lamay at St. Mary’s of the Fort Church in Fort Covington. She survives. Harold served in the United States Army from 1956-1959, and then worked at General Motors in Massena, N.Y. as a laborer for thirty years. He was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, and volunteered at the Fort Covington Food Pantry for ten years. He loved the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills and NASCAR. Survivors besides his wife include his son and daughter-in-law; Michael and Heather Grant of Bombay, N.Y., his three daughters and two sons-in-law; Shelly Grant of Elmira, N.Y., Debbie and Randy Fedonick of Norfolk, N.Y. and Darlene and Mike Tremblay of Fort Covington, two brothers; Bryant Grant of Massena, N.Y. and Dan and Wanda Grant of Brushton, N.Y., as well as eleven grandchildren and fourteen Great Grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Robert Grant and Paul Grant. In keeping with the families wishes, there will be no services at this time. In the spring, a graveside service with military honors will be held. Donations may be made in Harold’s memory to the Fort Covington Vol. Fire Department.
