MORTON – Harlan Henry Kaiser, 98, of Morton, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Hopedale Nursing Home in Hopedale, Ill. He was born on January 2, 1924, in Tremont, to Joseph and Louise (Stieglitz) Kaiser. He married Jean Anne Jacob in Morton, Ill., on January 10, 1960. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2021. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Kaiser and two sisters, Verna Kaiser and Elda Kaiser. Surviving are one son, David (Beth) Kaiser of Tremont; one grandson, Matthew (Mara) Kaiser of Aurora, Colo.; one granddaughter, Sarah (C.J.) Fisher of Morton; and five great-grandchildren, Harlan, Ellis, and Sullivan Kaiser and Olivia and Benjamin Fisher; one brother, Melvin (Marlene) Kaiser of Tremont; and one sister, Kathryn Kaiser of Morton. Harlan was a yard foreman for many years at Mathis Lumber Company in Morton. He was then a shipping/receiving manager for Peoria Porcelain before retiring in 1971. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Morton Apostolic Christian Church ministers officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Apostolic Christian Harvestcall. The family would like to thank the staff at Hopedale Nursing Home for the kindness and care they gave to Jean Anne and Harlan through the years they spent there as residence.
