Glen “Hippie” Melton, age 76, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 in Lexington. He was a retired employee of the City of Lexington and did excavation work. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Kay Melton; 3 sons, Jarret Melton (Ginny), Jeff Melton, and Justin Melton (Amanda); 1 brother, Dale Melton; 1 sister, Carol Wulfert (Nick); 7 grandchildren, Kailyn Melton, Kinley Melton, Alexis Melton, Jake Melton, Kate Melton, Dillon Lee, and Madilyn Lee; and 2 great grandchildren, John Lee and Raelyn Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Edith Melton. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 2 at 3PM at Reed’s Chapel with burial to follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 11AM-9PM and Monday from 9AM until service.
