Obituary George K. Pilkenton,97, passed away on November 7, 2022. He was on born June 30, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri to William H. Pilkenton and Ruth Kincaid Pilkenton. George spent his formative years in Farmer City, Illinois. Resident of Naperville since 1973 He enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served in World War II in the 86th Infantry Black Hawk Division in both the European and Pacific Theatre of War. After the war, he received a Law Degree from University of llinois and practiced law in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Happily married to Jane Schmuckal for 25 years before Jane passed away, they raised a family of three boys, Eric Pilkenton and Mark Pilkenton of Naperville and Bruce Pilkenton of Chicago, Illinois. George founded the Trust Department at the Bank of Naperville. He was Past President of the Glen Ellyn Jaycees, Naperville Rotary Club, and Naperville YMCA. Also served as a Director of the Bank of Lockport and the First Security Bank of Aurora, and Trustee of the Naperville Public Library and Commissioner of the Naperville Park District as well as a Longtime member of Naperville Country Club and an avid Chicago White Sox Fan. In 1976, he married Lois Lehnen Gauger and adopted her six children, Anne Burke of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia Enk (Gary) of Covington, New Orleans, Laurie Meyer (Jerry) of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Lynn Mohler (John) of Plainfield, lllilnois Ray Gauger of Norway, Michigan, and Carol Wills of Naperville, Illinois. George was predeceased by his parents and is brother, Bill Pilkenton of Great Britain. George and Lois have 18 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren. He is deeply loved all his children and treasured by all his Grandchildren, Danny Enk, Ryan Enk, Randy Enk, Lauren Enk Mann, James Enk, Joe Enk, Bridget Burke Moore, Jack Meyer, Callan Meyer, Jessie Mohler Amacher, Mike Mohler, Carl Stone, Jon Mohler, Kristin Gauger Glaser, Dayna Gauger, Jason Gauger, and Adam Wills and Tiffany Wills. A Visitation will be held on Thursday November 10, 2022, at 10:30AM at First Congregational Church, 25 E Benton Ave, Naperville, IL 60540, with a Service at 11:00AM.
