Schaab, George H., 95, of Cologne passed away in his home on November 10th, 2022, surrounded by family. George, lovingly known as “Poppy,” was born on August 24th, 1927. He attended Cologne Avenue School in a one-room school house from kindergarten through 8th grade and then attended Egg Harbor City High School. George proudly served in the Army. He then became an accomplished glazier, working for several companies until he opened his own company, Abacus Glass (“You can count on us”), with which he had several high-profile jobs, including the glass work for Atlantic City Race Course. George was a life-long member of the Egg Harbor City Moravian Church. He was also a member of the South Jersey Photography Club as an avid photographer. In his spare time, George loved to travel with his wife, children, and grandchildren. George is predeceased by his loving wife Joyce, to whom he was married for 73 years; his parents George and Emma (Roeske) Schaab; his sister Margie (Frank), sister Sophie (Joe), brother Bill (Pat), and brother Norman (Brooke). He is survived by his children, George (Joanna), Jay (Tammy), and Holly; grandchildren Jonathan, Heather (David), Stacy, Michelle (Frank), Jay (Tallia), Arthur (Cailin), Jenny (Chris), Kaley (Michael), and Darla (Sean); great-grandchildren Zach, Orion, Ben, Clayton, Apollo, Sadie, Aubrey, Charlotte, Sophie, Aurora, George, Frank, Ginny, Amelia, and Emma; and many nieces and nephews.
