George Albert Sigler, age 82, of Hawesville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY. George was a United States Marine Veteran. He worked for National Southwire Aluminum Company later known as Century Aluminum for many years. George enjoyed spending time outdoors in his garden growing vegetables. Most of all he loved the time spent with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Mildred Sigler, brother Claude Sigler, and his sisters Janie Hayes and Edith Coomes. George is survived by his wife JoAnn Sigler of Hawesville, KY; daughter Sherri Herndon and her husband Brian of Hawesville, KY; son George Michael Sigler and his wife Myrtle of Prestonsburg, KY; sister Mary Ruth Thompson of Henderson, KY; brother Eddie Carroll Sigler of Sarasota, FL; granddaughter Madison Kaitlyn Carpenter and her husband Allen; and great-grandchildren Lennon Rose Zamora and Bryer Grey Zamora. Relatives and friends are invited to George’s Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Jarboe officiating. Burial will follow at Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis. KY. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post #48.
