Genoveva “Genny” C. Cruz, 76, of Elk Grove, IL, passed away on November 18., 2022. Loving wife of Angelito Cruz, beloved mother of Angelito Cruz Jr. (Jasmin) Cruz, dear grandmother of Victoria (Ryan) Gannon, Jared, and Noelle, cherished sister of Amelia de la Cruz, Mellie Aquino, and Tita Malapitan, loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews, and the adored “Lola Genny” to her grand nieces and nephews. Genoveva was born in San Pablo City, Laguna, Philippines on January 3, 1946. She was the 5th child of the late Placido and Candida Cusi. She migrated to Los Angeles, California in 1969, the first of the Cusi Family to immigrate to America. Eventually she moved to Chicago, IL in May of 1972. She retired in 2010 as a Senior Regulatory Scientist at Fresenius Kabi USA, LLC where she devoted over 30 years. She and her husband Angelito loved to travel the world. They have been to Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, among others. She will be remembered for her love, generosity, and devotion to everyone she held dear to her heart. Visitation will be Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. with a funeral service at 12:00. P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home, 2550 West Hassell Rd., (Northeast corner of Barrington Rd.), Hoffman Estates, IL. 60169.
