Geneva’s Obituary Geneva Leetch, age 75 of Huron, SD passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Avantara Huron. Cremation has taken place and Geneva was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Huron. Geneva Songer, the daughter of Raymond and Hazel (Baughman) Songer, was born on April 20, 1947 in Chester, SD. She grew up in the Winner and Gregory area with a total of 15 siblings. Geneva worked as a housekeeper and childcare provider for many years. Geneva married Quenton “Duke” Leetch on August 7, 1966 at the Huron Salvation Army. The couple lived in Minnesota for several years before making their home in Huron to be closer to family. Duke passed away in 2015. Geneva never had children of her own but loved her pets, especially her dogs. She worked several places in Huron. Grateful for having shared in Geneva’s life are her brother, Wayne Songer of Huron, SD; sister Leota Story of Bassett, NE; and several nieces and nephews. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Duke; brothers, Donald, Dale, Leonard, Melvin, Calvin, Lester, Larry, Keith and Kenneth; sisters Velda Schnellbach, Charlotte Stas, and Iola Hamilton.
