Gayle Franklin McCarty, 89, formerly of Morganfield, KY passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his home in Elizabethtown, KY. He was born on August 16, 1932 to Young and Eunice Stovall McCarty at Eddyville, KY. He attended school and received an Associate Degree. He married Martha Wadlington. He was a lifelong Christian, was the owner/oprator of McCarty, Young and Stoll Insurance Agency in Morganfield for over 30 years. He was a member of the Morganfield Masonic Lodge. He loved to fish, tell jokes and visit with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents,Young McCarty and Eunice Stovall McCarty. Gayle is survived by his loving spouse of 64 years, Martha Wadlington McCarty; his daughter, Gayla (Stan) Routt of Elizabethtown; grandson, Blaine (Amber) Routt; granddaughter, Kelsey (Jordon) Howell; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Marshall of Novi, MI and Sara Bodenhamer of Durham, NC. Manakee Funeral Home will be in charge of a private graveside service on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens, Cecilia, KY, with Stan Routt, officiating.
