Francis “Frank” Patrick Farris, 76, of Springfield,Missouri, passed away from health complications, the evening of November 10, 2022, surrounded by family. Frank was born on September 9, 1946, in Springfield, Missouri to Benedict and Elizabeth Farris. The family eventually moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area where Frank attended primary school at St. Francis DeSales Catholic School and graduated from Byzantine Catholic High School. Frank served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War stationed at Camp Okinawa. He returned to Cleveland following the war to work for Sun Newspapers before accepting a position in the family business of Farris Family Fashions in Springfield, Missouri in 1977. Frank welcomed two children in his first marriage and added three additional children to his family when he married Johnnetta on April 16, 2011. Frank was a devoted Catholic committing his time to his Parrish, Holy Trinity, as a member of the Men’s Club and through his involvement in the Knights of Columbus. Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife, Johnnetta, especially to visit lighthouses. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, watching each game with a passion that couldn’t be matched. He also collected train memorabilia and loved completing puzzles. Later in life he was a proud grandfather and loved seeing and being updated about his grandkids. Frank was preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his wife,Johnnetta; his children: Anthony Farris (Sara), Jessica Wagner (Tyson), as well as his grandson Cole Wagner, and his bonus children Mike Meese (Betsy), Donna Graves (Arlen) and Consuela Huston (Randy) as well as grandchildren, Zachary Meese, Asia Meese, Hannah Meese, Andrew Rodgers, Austin Rodgers, Nellie Graves, Cheyenne Weeks, Brittany Mitchell, Beau Huston and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, Mike Farris (Alice) and Chuck Farris (Bunny) and his sister, Bonnie Perreto (Fred) and his 11 nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as Uncle Bunco, and their children. A Memorial Graveside Service with Full Military Honors at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery is pending at this time, please check back for the update. Family and friends are invited to attend.
