Faith E. Smith, 79, died on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Wellspan York Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Jerrold O. Smith, sharing just shy of 60 years of marriage. Faith was born on May 22, 1943, daughter of the late George E. and Alverta I. (Shenberger) Sipes. Faith graduated from William Penn Senior High School, Class of 1961. She worked for Mudge Paper Company for over 30 years. She was a lifetime member of Fourth United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for two generations. She enjoyed bowling and watching all kinds of sports, especially basketball. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. Keller and her husband, Mark and Melinda J. Funk and her husband, Randy; five grandchildren, Taryn Keller (Andrew Baumann), Victoria Keller (Randy Mack), Tristyn Lehman (Alex), Joshua Funk (Tatiana), and Austin Funk. She was preceded in death by three siblings, George Sipes, Delmar Sipes, and Mary Ann Sipes. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Fourth United Methodist Church, 1067 E. Market Street, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Matthew Loyer officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service in Mount Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fourth United Methodist Church, 1067 E. Market Street, York 17403. Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
