Everilde (Sonday) Wittrock, age 98, of Mankato, died on December 5, 2022 at Ecumen Pathstone Living. Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Northview. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. The service will be livestreamed from Everilde’s obituary at www.mankatomortuary.com. Everilde was born on August 5, 1924 in Mapleton, MN to Michael and Charlotte (Bentley) Morris. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1943. On August 5, 1943, Everilde was united in marriage to Louis “Duke” Sonday. They farmed for many years in Blue Earth County. After Duke’s death in 1975, Everilde married Bernie Wittrock on May 7, 1977. Everilde and Bernie lived in Lake Crystal. Everilde worked at Janesville Maid Bakery, Lewis East Gate, and the Lake Crystal Dairy Queen. She was a person of many craft talents, doing embroidery and woodworking. Everilde enjoyed square dancing, camping, and traveling. She loved cooking for her family, especially making birthday cakes for all of them. Everilde is survived by her children, Gary Sonday (Susan Bagley) of New Bern, North Carolina, Robert (Twinkle) Sonday of Northfield, and Connie (Dwight) Wallin of Mankato; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild on the way; sister, Darlene Guimond of Rochester; brother, Gene Morris of Waterville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Duke; second husband, Bernie; sister, Alice Barklow; and brother, Glen Morris.
