Emmitt Allen “Buck” Sargent, age 63, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his home. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Emmitt and Elizabeth Geraldine Griffith Sargent. He was a life long resident of the area and was a retired Registered Nurse from Clinch Valley Medical Center. His uniqueness and personality were one of a kind and he will be missed by all of his loving family and friends. He was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1977. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Keith Sargent. Survivors are: His Wife: Anita Sargent Daughter: Renata Sargent of Richlands, Virginia Son: Erik Sargent of Pulaski, Virginia Sister: Tina Gilbert and husband, Rufus of Richlands, Virginia Brothers: Michael Sargent and wife, Teresa of Las Vegas, Nevada Doug Sargent and wife, Loretta of Honaker, Virginia Grandchildren: Nikki Sargent, Nicklas Sargent, Eiljah Sandifer-Ide, Mila Sargent, and Xander Sargent Funeral services for Emmitt Allen “Buck” Sargent will be conducted Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 1pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Evangelist Bob Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Terry Ray, Greg Harman, Tyler Harman, Michael Eastridge, Elijah Sandifer-Ide, Nick Sargent, Mike Pugh, and Steve Pugh.
