Emma Lee Marie Vinning Belanger, 85, a resident of Hammond, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Summerfield Senior Living in Hammond. Emma Lee was born April 29, 1937, in Patterson, the daughter of Corbett John Vinning and Ella Eva Landry May. Emma Lee may have been a tiny woman, but she was filled with a whole bunch of personality. She was always well-dressed; Emma Lee was a fashionista and loved clothing and shopping. Emma Lee also enjoyed dancing. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two children, Danny Lee Belanger and wife Debra of Hammond, Flame Belanger Nehlig and husband Joseph of Franklinton, LA; one brother, Jerry Vinning and wife Jan of Lafayette; two sisters, Gwen Callahan Gill and husband George of Franklin, Beth Callahan Hammond and husband Jim of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Cole Joseph Nehlig and Emma Lee Aurora Nehlig; sister-in-law, Tuffy Vinning. Emma Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Corbett John Vinning and Ella Eva Landry May; husband, Francis Daniel Belanger; companion, Kenneth David; brother, Carol Vinning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday October 1, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Francis Kayaye officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. After Mass, Emma Lee will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
