Emily “Betty” Crews November 20, 2022 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card CREWS, Emily “Betty”, 84, of Mechanicsville, Va., received her eternal wings on November 20, 2022. “Bebe” will be greatly missed and remembered as a dedicated, supportive, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She fought years of health obstacles with grit and determination. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 62 years, Russell Crews. Betty is survived by her daughters, Christy (Duane), Cindy (Buzz); and son, Russ Jr. (Donna); grandchildren, Josh (Courtney), Caleb (Saurah), Austin, Preston, McKenzie, Alexandra and Ryan; stepgrandchildren, Maura (Josh), Mallori (Scott) and August; great-grandson, Tanner, and great-granddaughter, to arrive in February; stepgreat-grandchildren, Hunter, Tallon and Ridge; and brother, Buddy Mallory. Betty’s greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to shop, travel and spend time at the Rappahannock River. Betty volunteered at Bon Secour’s Memorial Regional Surgery Center for many years, offering comfort and compassion to others. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, Mechanicsville Chapel, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 29 at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alzheimer’s Association, Richmond Chapter, 4600 Cox Road, #130, Glen Allen, Va. 23060 or a charity of your choice. Due to the passing of Russell during Covid, this will be a combined celebration of life for Betty and Russell Crews.
