Eleanor Gorden, 103, of Lauderdale passed away 1-8-22 at Lyngblomsten Care Center, St. Paul. Born Nov 14, 1918 to Nels and Emma Malmanger. Graduated from Truman HS, went onto nursing school at St. Andrews and served on the nurses board, she was the youngest head of nurses. Married Warren Thompson and had 4 children and 2 step children. Scrubbed for Dr. Lillehei at U of M Hospital and worked private duty for years. She loved to take car trips, fish, camp, picnics and quilting. Eleanor will be greatly missed by her children Jean Ovaldson of AZ, Thomas Thompson of Lauderdale, Lois Thompson-Liesen of Blaine, William Thompson of Lauderdale; stepchildren, Art Halverson and Gerald Halverson; grandchildren, Kim, Kelly, Stacy, Johnny, Jacob, Jennifer, Melonie, John, Sonia, Melisa, Tammy, Angela, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Nick, Taylor, Katie, Mathew, Paige, Will. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren Thompson; husband, Eugene Gorden; sister, Margret Mausling and a lot of people she loved. Celebration of life to be held Thursday January 20th at 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior at St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church 2323 Como Ave St. Paul, MN 55108. Memorials preferred to St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church.
