Elaine Helen Gurian (adoringly known as Yane, Eent, Mom, and Fox), age 97, of Bexley, Ohio, died on June 8, 2022, one day shy of her 98th birthday, surrounded by the loving family that she created. Elaine was born on June 9, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She had many facets as a mom, grandma, friend, and fashionista model. Her sense of humor and fighting, feisty spirit will always remain an inspiration for us all. She was preceded in death by her parents Leon and Rose Rosen, sister Marilyn Skurow, brother Irving “Buddy” Rosen, husband Richard Gurian, and son-in-law David Orlins. She is survived by her three children Bonnie Orlins, Cathy Phillippi (Ron), and Jon Gurian (Marilyn); grandchildren Andrew Orlins (Jennifer), Matt Orlins (Rebecca), Jaimie Hutchins (Chuck), Remy Orlins, Zach Orlins (Erin), and Jimmy Vann (Kim); and great-grandchildren Juliana Orlins, Casey Orlins, Rylee Hutchins, Klayton Hutchins, Brynn Orlins, and Ramona Orlins. Funeral service will be 1:00pm, Friday, June 10 at Epstein Memorial Chapel, 3232 E Main St., Columbus, OH 43213 with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to KIDSAVE at www.kidsave.org to honor Elaine’s compassion and empathy for children struggling with the crisis in Ukraine.
