Elaine M. (Martel) Genest, age 81, formerly of Chepachet, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Scalabrini Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred A. Genest for 44 years. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Donat L. and Mary A. Martel. Elaine leaves behind her children, Steven Genest (Leslie), Robert Genest (Debra), Christopher Genest (Ana) and Lynne Nyman (Tim). She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Elaine is also survived by her siblings, Robert Martel (Nancy), Dennis Martel (Karen), Michael Martel (Patty) and Donna Martel (Christine). A service in Elaine’s memory will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St., #306, Providence, RI 02906.
