Earl “Jr” Edwin Stephenson, age 90, of Troy passed from this life during the afternoon hours of Sunday, November 6th, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital. He was born on the 14th day of February 1932 in Rosebud to parents Earl Earnest and Norma Stephenson (Eixman). Jr has been a resident of Troy for the past 52 years. He graduated from Rosebud High School in 1949 before graduating from Baylor University with his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Jr worked for Paul Boyd Ford in the 1950’s, then International from 1964-1994, and finally Tractor Supply from 1995-2017. On June 6th, 1970, Jr married the love of his life Juanita in Hillsboro. Jr attended 1st Lutheran Church in Temple and was a part of the Masons Organization. Jr loved collecting firearms, gardening each year, and reading lots of gun books. His family bought the family farm in 1950 and he loved working on it when he was younger. Jr will be deeply missed by many friends and family. He is preceded in death by his wife Juanita Stephenson, parents, and stepson Ronnie Finnegan. Jr leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Richard Stephenson of Troy. Graveside services will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home on Friday, November 11th, 2022, at 2 p.m. The family will be accepting visitors at the Funeral Home on Thursday between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with these arrangements.
