View Tribute Book Dr. James Patrick Hoover, 71, of Raccoon Twp., passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by those who dearly loved him. Born October 27, 1951, in Sewickley, he was a son of the late Otto and Dorothy (Fitzgerald) Hoover. Dr. Hoover valued learning and education. He received his Masters of Business Administration at Robert Morris University and his Doctorate in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. His career achievements include teaching at Beaver Area School District, serving as an administrator at West Allegheny School District, and retiring as CEO of PA Distance Learning Charter School in Sewickley. Jim served as Treasurer of the Coach Homes of Berkshire Lakes H.O.A. Board of Directors, and as Treasurer of the Falling Waters H.O.A. Board of Directors, both in Naples, FL. He also ran a small tax and financial consulting business in Monaca. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of over 46 years, Irene (Patuc) Hoover; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Stacey Hoover, Oakmont; three sisters, Dorothy (David) Miller, Christine Steinmetz (Bill Heitman), and Theresa Hoover; three brothers, Robert (Lynn) Hoover, Paul (Cheryl) Hoover, and Otto (Debbie) Hoover; two brothers-in-law, Paul (Anna Marie) Patuc, and Michael Patuc, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday, December 9, 2022, from 3pm until 7pm at TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., CENTER TWP., 3475 Brodhead Rd., Monaca, PA, 15061. A private service will take place Saturday with entombment following at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Coraopolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the Beaver County Humane Society. Read more
