Douglas George Lloyd, 75, passed away at home in Wasilla, AK, on June 24, 2022, due to cancer. There will be a service held on July 15, 2022, 1pm, at Fort Richardson National Cemetery with full military honors. He was born in Seattle, WA to parents Winston Lloyd and Phyllis DeClusin, on July 3, 1946. Douglas was a 1964 graduate from Amador County High School in Sutter Creek, CA. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965 and served in the Vietnam War. After moving to Alaska in 1981, when his time spent serving came to an end in 1985, he then started working for the State of Alaska Department of Corrections. He retired in 2010. Doug had an exceptional love for people and the outdoors. Whether it was fishing, hunting, birding, or photography, he enjoyed all of them with his friends and family. We will forever cherish the moments shared. Douglas was preceded by his parents Winston and Phyllis, and his stepmother Ruth Lloyd. He is survived by his son Andy (Missy) Lloyd; daughters Wendy (Bret) Corkill and Tricia (Jim) Dettling; grandsons Brice (Caitriana) Corkill, Hunter Schachle, and Hayden Lloyd; granddaughters Breken Corkill, Haylee Lloyd, and Rylan Dettling; two great-grandchildren.
