Dorothy Reynolds White, 92, died Thursday, December 29, 2022 in Tyler, Texas, her home for the past 53 years. She was born to the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Staats) Reynolds in Saint Georges, Delaware on May 12, 1930. “Dot” graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Home Economics/Early Childhood Education. She married Dale White in 1952 and they shared 69 years together prior to his passing early in 2022. Dot taught private kindergarten until she and Dale started their own family. She loved children and had enjoyed teaching four-year-olds in Bible class for many decades, most recently at West Erwin church of Christ, where she had been an active member. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband, Dale White (Tyler); her son, Randy White (Dallas); and a daughter, Laurie White Osborne (Naples, Florida). She is survived by her daughter, Donna White Wood, (Denton); and her daughter, Elizabeth White Blaisdell, (Frankston); seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dorothy took great joy in cooking, hosting numerous events in her home, and sharing her deep faith with others. The family plans to hold a private service. In lieu of flowers please feel free to contribute to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701 or your church’s benevolence program.
