Obituary Dorothy Faye Reeder, 60, of Putney, went to her heavenly home on Monday, August 8, 2022, at the Harlan ARH with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Louisville, KY on March 21, 1962 but had lived in Harlan County all of her life. Dorothy was a homemaker and believed in the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, riding in the mountains, raising animals and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved praying for people and doing God’s will. She was preceded in death by her son, John “Bubby” Reeder; her parents, John Henry Pace and Geneva Dingus Pace; two brothers, Michael Pace and Billy Pace; two sisters-in-law, Julia VanDyke and Brenda McMillion. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Johnny Wayne Reeder, Putney; four children, Jennifer Meade and husband, Jamie, Weber City, VA; Linda Rigney and husband, Don, Coldiron, KY; Josh Reeder and wife, Deborah, Loyall, KY; and Daniel Reeder, Putney, KY; and nine grandchildren, John Pace; Brian and Emily Cress; Autumn, Jaxton and Josh Reeder, Jr.; Kaylee Holbrook; David and Don Rigney, III. Also surviving are four brothers, Marvin Pace and wife, Lora, Alvin Pace, Roger Pace and Ernie Pace, all of Lejunior; two sisters, Nancy Brown and husband, Grant, Lafayette, IN; Carolyn Jones and husband, David, Owensboro, KY; a brother-in-law, Hayes Irvin, Jr., Evarts; and a host of other family and friends, including special friends, Della and Gary Fuson, and Kristen and Gary Fuson, Jr. Her visitation will be held at the Evarts Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 until 8 pm and Thursday from 11 am until 1 pm. Her funeral will be conducted Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 1 pm with the Reverend Russell Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with her family and friends serving as pallbearers. Evarts Funeral Home is honored to serve the Reeder family.
