BRISTOL, TENNESSEE – Donna Gay Parks, 66, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. She was born in Wise, Virginia; daughter of the late Donald Edward Long. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Howard Long; and a special friend, Duane Leonard. Donna was a foster parent and had loved and cared for more than seventy children over the years. She enjoyed researching genealogy. Her longtime favorite hobby was collecting pictures of famous people, mostly political figures from all over the world. Donna was active in the Republican Party. She is survived by one son, Joshua Parks and fiancée, Kayla Seals of Pennington Gap, Virginia; one daughter, Kathy Rife and husband, Jeff; her mother, Dolores Salyer Long of Lexington, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Daylynn Parks, Payden Parks, and Maggie Rife; one sister, Devona Price and husband, Joel Jr. of Lexington, South Carolina; and one brother, Ronald David Long of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Funeral Services for Donna Gay Parks will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2022, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Johnnie Dillard officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Joshua Parks, Joel Price, Jackson Price, and Spencer Price. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Long, Larry Hartsock, Wayne Justice, and Denny Long. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2022, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
