Donald R. Pearce, 78, of Monroe City, IN passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Cathedral Health Care in Jasper, IN. He was born December 17, 1943 in Battle Creek, MI to the late Harold and Virginia (Phillips) Pearce. Don was employed with Whirlpool Corporation for 32 years. He was also the owner and operator of Handee Boworks. Don was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, camping and archery competitions. He had a special love for his three dogs. Don is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary (Bruce) Pearce; son, Steve (Melinda) Pearce; daughters, Kimberly (Lance) Greer and Nichole (Kevin) Kahlbrier; stepdaughter, Kelly (Darin) McCarter; and stepson, Chris (Jaye) Ross; grandchildren, Rylee Greer, Josie, Benny and Alex Kahlbrier; stepgrandchildren, Michael (Victoria) Robinson, Nathan McCarter, Dustin McCarter, Theo Ross, Jesse McCarter and Dylan McCarter; step great-granddaughters, Murphy Robinson and Hayleigh McCarter; and sister, Helen (Bill) Johnson. Don was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society, P.O. Box 6711, Evansville, IN 47719-6711.
