Donald “Duck” Briggs Sr. BRIGGS—Donald Sr. “Duck,” 83, Conemaugh, passed away on December 6, 2022. Born March 2, 1939, Johnstown, son of Thomas and Margaret (McClain) Briggs. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Leona Piechnik, Elizabeth Podoletz, Shirley Barker, Patricia Doyle and Peggy Flanagan; and brother, Thomas Briggs. Survived by loving wife of 56 years, Mary “Corky” (Williams) whom he married October 22, 1966; children, Tabatha (Briggs) Reynolds and husband, Eric; Donald Briggs Jr., and wife, Kim; and Thomas Briggs and wife, Angela; grandchildren, Tyler, Tiffany, Tara (Nick), Jessica (Harrison), Kayla, Donald III, Clara, Noelle and Bentley; great-grandchildren, Connor, Travis, Trevor, Peyton, Shane, Paige, Serenity, Jaxson and Kayron; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Don was in the US Air Force for 4 years and served as a dental assistant. He achieved the rank of A1C E-4 and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Conemaugh Fire Club and the American Legion. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Don retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. where he had worked for over 20 years. He loved watching the Steelers and spending time with his family. He enjoyed going out to eat at Applebee’s. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First St., Conemaugh. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Transfiguration with Fr. Robert C. Hall.
