Dixie’s Obituary Dixie Beery, age 88, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2022. She was born November 14, 1933 in Clinton, Illinois to John and Vera Webb. Dixie’s childhood hometown was Clinton. She was a lifelong resident of Wheaton, very involved with the community. She was an active member of First Christian Church of Glen Ellyn, where she sang in the choir and participated in Women’s ministries. Dixie was a dynamic woman and lifelong learner who put her heart and soul into all her endeavors. She was a patron of the arts, music, theater and a performer with the Wheaton Choir and the Wheaton College chorale. She was also active with the DuPage Farm Bureau and served many years as a supervising DuPage County Election Judge. She enjoyed her work for over 25 years as a Bridal and retail consultant at a major corporate retailer. Her passion for entertaining, exceptional candy making, scratch baking, and cooking (almond roca) were treasured. Dixie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her children, Doug (Pat) Foster, Nikki (Michael) Alexander, and Kent Beery; five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas in 2002 and her parents.
