View Tribute Book Deirdre “Derry” Mitchell Aloia, age 69 of Port Chester, NY, passed away on Tuesday November 8, 2022, after a short illness. Derry was born in Washington, DC on July 5,1953 to parents Nora Thomas Mitchell and James E. Mitchell. She is survived by her loving husband David Joseph Aloia, daughter Carlin Rose Phelan (Joseph), son Michael David Aloia, son Christian Brown (Valerie), and threegreatly loved grandchildren, Jack Phelan, Charlotte Phelan and Sadie Brown. Derry is also survived by her sisters Margaret Mitchell LaBrosse and Katherine Mitchell. Derry attended Resurrection elementary school and Rye High School, Class of 1972. She also received a certificate in Business Studies from The Berkley School in White Plains, NY. Derry worked for Direct Media Corporation and then the Ridgeway Nursery School also in White Plains for many years, which was her most loved job. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a faithful friend to many. Derry will be remembered well by all those whose hearts she touched. The funeral service will be held at the Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Road, Rye, NY at 10am Saturday, December 3, 2022.
