Debra Packer Albright, a retired medical technologist for the Veterans Affairs Hospital in New Orleans, died Monday 11/14/2022 at New Orleans East Hospital. She was 72. Mrs. Albright was a native of Mobile, Alabama graduating from Central High School and became a long-term resident of New Orleans, after graduating from Xavier University of New Orleans, where she met her late husband, Joseph H. Albright. Mrs. Albright was a 50-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, notably a charter member of Epsilon Tau Chapter at Xavier. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel F. Packer and Algie Ervin Packer. She is survived by her devoted children, DaCarla Mirinda, Tyra Vanice and Kyle Joseph Albright. Her adoring granddaughters were the apple of her eye: Christian Kayla Ransom and Leila Alexis Williams. She is also survived by her brother Daniel F. Packer (Catherine) and her loving nephew Timothy Packer, niece Vanice Packer Zenon and her beloved first cousin, Gwen Goode. Mrs. Albright was a devoted parishioner of St. Maria Goretti for nearly 50 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd. on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vincent Cemetery Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Arrangements managed by D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue.
