Debra Anne Cruder of Severna Park, MD passed away on June 5, 2022, at Complete Care at Corsica Hills in Centreville, MD. She was 67. Born on October 1, 1954, in Englewood, NJ, she was the daughter of Robert and Anne Pilz Grace. Debbie grew up in Edgewater, NJ and graduated from Leonia High School with the Class of 1972. She attended The Berkeley School in Ridgewood, NJ, completing the Executive Secretarial Program of Study, then went on to work in point of purchase advertising and sales at Merchandising Display Corporation in Englewood NJ. She enjoyed trips to Europe and skiing in the winter with friends. In 1986, she married then LT Marc Cruder, USCG of Cresskill, NJ. They drove across the country together, were stationed in Long Beach and lived in Palos Verdes, CA. Debbie attended the University of Redlands and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management. She went on to work as an Account Executive and Sales Manager. When she and Marc were transferred back east, they moved into the Chartwell Community where Debbie was a stay at home Mom by choice and actively volunteered on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the St. Andrews Swim and Tennis Club as well as the Spartan Lyrical Society. She also enjoyed gardening, all kinds of crafts and DIY home improvement projects from wallpapering to tile work to faux finishing furniture. She was a prolific seamstress and did everything from original Halloween costumes to Prom Dress alterations. Debbie eventually continued her education by studying accounting and tax law sufficient to meet the eligibility requirements for the CPA exam. She last worked for Kenneth G. Menzies Jr., PA. She was a gentle unassuming sole with light in her eyes, a big smile and an even bigger heart, who always put others and her family before herself. Debbie was a loving wife and mother who is survived by her husband, Marc; son Matthew; and daughter Noelle Cruder; sisters in-law Rosemary (Cruder) Leone and her husband Dan and Suzanne Cruder-Hofhauer.
