Obituary David Joseph Bastein, Sr. passed away on September 17, 2022. Beloved father of Vickie L. Schaal (Craig) and the late David J. Bastein, Jr.; dear grandfather of Matthew Schaal and loving brother of Ernest and Esther. David was born on April 20,1931 in Pennsylvania to his late parents Ernest and Ruby Bastein and passed away on September 17,2022 in Pasadena, Maryland. He was a longtime resident of Brooklyn Park, Maryland. He proudly served his country in the Unites States Marines Corp., where he also played football for the Marines. After his time in the service, he worked for many years before retiring for Lucent Technologies which would eventually become AT&T. David was also a lifelong Boy Scout where he earned the title of Eagle Scout which he was very proud of. In his free time, he enjoyed line dancing, hand dancing and ballroom dancing. He also loved Cadillac cars and his yorkie grand dogs. He will be dearly missed by all. Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road Pasadena, Maryland 21122 on Friday September 23, 2022 from 9 AM until 12 NOON.
