Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven David B. Shoaf, 88, passed away December 26, 2022. David was born in Covington, TN to John Bass and Bertha (David) Shoaf. He served in the U.S. Army then graduated from the University of Tennessee-Martin where he met his wife of 63 years, Linda Lee Ross. He received his master’s degree in poultry science from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville then worked in the feed industry for more than 60 years. The last 30 years of his career, David was the founder and president of Cindryn Group, Ltd., a diversified agriculture company and commodity brokerage. David will be remembered for his deep love of family and of his Savior Jesus Christ. Throughout his life, David served others. For more than 40 years he participated in Gideons International taking every opportunity to ask people, “Did you come to work alone today?” so that he could give them a Gideon Bible and share that his friend Jesus Christ wanted to be with them everywhere they would ever go. David also enjoyed gardening and watching the Vols play on TV. He will be remembered as a kind, godly, and gentle man with a good sense of humor. David is survived by his wife, Linda Ross Shoaf of Horn Lake, MS; his daughters Kathryn Ayers (Phil) of Madison, MS and Cynthia Finley (Kenneth) of Columbia, MO; his grandchildren Andrew Ayers (Lauren) of Madison, MS, Allison Cochran (Cole) of Madison, MS, Kenny Finley (Olivia Marie) of Kansas City, MO, Anna Finley of Columbia, MO, and Olivia Lee Finley of Columbia, MO; and his great-grandchildren, Drew, Conner, Eli, Nora, and Charlotte, all of Madison, MS. David was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Margaret Christensen and Barbara Shoaf. A visitation will be held at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road East, Southaven, MS, 38672) on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with the funeral immediately following at 3:00 PM. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11:30 AM at North Union Cemetery (78 Preacher Dowland Road, Kenton, Tennessee, 38233). Rev. Randy Mobley will officiate.
