Obituary David Alton Crane, age 60, a resident of Stockton, AL died Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Thomas Hospital. He was born in Mobile, AL on June 28, 1962. He grew up in Atmore, AL and graduated from ECHS in 1980. He was a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. He loved the history of Confederacy and researching family genealogy. He is survived by his wife, Susan Garison Crane of Stockton, AL; his three sons, Jeremy (Cheryl) Crane of Stockton, AL, Joshua (Elise) Smith of Woodstock, GA and Cutter Crane of Stockton, AL; one daughter, Callie Crane of Stockton, AL; one stepdaughter, Sara (Cory) Hardee of Charlotte, NC; his father, Samuel Crane, Sr. of Stockton, AL; his brothers, Samuel (Gayle) Crane, Jr., of Indiana and timothy (Tina) Crane of Mobile, AL; one sister, Cindy Crane of Stockton, AL; grandchildren, Austin Crane, Lex Crane, Elizabeth Crane, Ethan Smith, Nora Hardee and Ellis Hardee; his nephews, Jonathon Crane and Tristan (Brianna) Crane and nieces, Crystal Crane and Shannon (Eric) Miller. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Hammond Cranel his maternal grandparents, Warren and Sue Hammond and his paternal grandparents, Alton and Lucille Crane. Graveside services and burial will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Stockton Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Ken Lane and Reverend Robert Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the North Baldwin Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 190, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
