Connie M. McCurdy, 70, of Wood River passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 surrounded by her family. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service time. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wood River Cemetery. Casual dress is requested by Connie’s family. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Connie was born on March 30, 1951 at Fullerton, daughter of Maurice and Donnetta (Speas) Rutten. She attended school in Cedar Rapids, NE and graduated from Grand Island High School. On April 25, 1969, Connie married Marvin McCurdy and they made their home in Grand Island and surrounding areas until finally, Wood River. Connie worked part time at the Grand Island Independent and 14 years at Bullet Weights in Alda. Connie loved to collect Elvis memorabilia and all of his songs were her favorite. She enjoyed camping and fishing with family, and kept her mind sharp by putting puzzles together. Connie was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Marvin of Wood River; children, Rodney (Kim) of Fullerotn, Marlena (David) Wengler of Alda, Robert (Mary) of Wood River, and Melissa (Chad Shada) Woitalewicz of Wood River; sister, Colleen Pfeifer of Cedar Rapids, NE; 11 grandchildren; and 16 plus great-grandchildren. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Marlene Heaps and Nancy Rutten.
