Obituary Connie L. Cherry, 80, of Lewistown, passed away at 9:28 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at her home. Born Oct. 21, 1942, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Boyd Sr. and Sarah (Shawver) Arnold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Pauline Rhodes, Orville Arnold, Gladys Hesketh, Peggy Arnold and Boyd Arnold Jr. Connie is survived by: husband, Roy Cherry; children, Steven D. Cherry and companion, Jenn Armstrong, Tracey Lightner, and Kimberly Wray and husband, David, all of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Nicholas Cherry, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Nathan Lightner and wife, Tori, of Mifflintown, Danielle Bowsman and husband, Tony, of Halifax, and Steven Wray and wife, Sydney, of Okinawa, Japan; five great-grandchildren, Ezra Lightner, Cohnor and Quinnlyn Bowsman, and Warren and Emmett Wray; sister, Linda Douty, of Lewistown; and best friends, Marge Osborne and Gayle Lynch, who were more like sisters. Early in life, she was employed by the Mifflin County School District as a custodian. She was an active member of Calvary Bible Church, especially in children’s ministry. She loved children, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Calvary Bible Church, with Pastor Ethan Druckenmiller officiating. Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Connie’s memory may be made to Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown, PA 17044.
