Clinton had been a resident of the area for five years, moving here from Indiana. He worked at the Lives Under Construction Boys’ Ranch in Blue Eye, MO. He was a member of Our Lady of the Cove Catholic Church in Kimberling City, MO. Clinton was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Bates. Survivors include: his mother, Barbara Bates of Kokomo, IN; son, Brady Bates of Noblesville, IN; two daughters, Rachel Stax of Las Vegas, NV and Iliana James of New Mexico; three brothers, Charles Bates III of Fortville, IN, Cecil Bates of Indianapolis, IN and Corey Bates of Indiana; four sisters, Nikki Bates of Indianapolis, IN, Nita Askew of Indianapolis, IN, Nevata White of Indianapolis, IN and Nichelle Bates of Kokomo, IN; and a host of other family and friends.
