Clifford “Jack” Forbes of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 04, 2022, at the age of eighty-five. He was born on August 13, 1937, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to the late Charles Dee and Vera (Wade) Forbes. Jack joined the United States Air Force in February of 1955; he started his career in the Military Police and retired in August 1975 as a Combat Photographer. He was always a very proud Veteran. After retiring from the Air Force, Jack moved to Rolla, Missouri where he was employed at the USGS photography lab for twenty-seven years. It was his move to Rolla, Missouri that brought him to meet his loving wife of twenty-three years, Betty (Davis) Forbes; they were married on February 13, 1999. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Jack is survived by his wife, Betty Forbes of Rolla, Missouri; children, Karen (Daniel) Christian of Brazil, Indiana, Dennis Forbes of Rolla, Missouri, Shirley “Darlene” (Gary) Eads of Rolla, Missouri and Timothy (Lori) Hill of Leavenworth, Kansas; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew, a host of extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister and brother in-law, Donna and Bobby Lomax. Funeral service for Jack Forbes will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, October 07, 2022, at the Rolla Chapel of the James and Gahr Mortuary, Rolla, Missouri. Interment will be in the Rolla City Cemetery, Rolla, Missouri. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 10:00AM until service time at 11:00AM, Friday, October 07, 2022. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association. Cards are available at all James and Gahr locations.
